Whatever agitation Phoenix had been feeling, whatever anger he was projecting towards those he assumed responsible, vanished with the other man's words. Edgeworth was afraid, he realized, and that thought alone was sobering.

"That's not going to happen," Phoenix firmly assured. "He's your friend, Edgeworth. It'll take more than that to drive him away." A smile, small but genuine, peaked the corners of his lips. "You should know that."
