040 [Locked from Dahlia; Hackable]

I've been having some trouble with my internet service provider. Seems they decided last weekend was a good time to disconnect me, so until this gets cleared up, I probably won't be around much.

I haven't missed anything important, have I? Did anyone figure out why we were all tied up?

The people that want them out of the position.

Has this kind of situation ever happened in your world? Where you live, why do people commit murder?

I suppose the general society does. Or to be more exact, whomever submits a mission with that objective to a village leader.

Hmm. I see. In the life of a shinobi, the main reason for killing someone is usually because of an assigned mission.

So then, does it happen often?

There is, albeit not as intricate as the one in your world. You may disapprove of our method.

I should hope not. Life is... very important.

Well. The perpretrator is brought before the Kage of the village and states his or her case. After hearing the details of the situation, the Kage and the council will discuss the issue in private. Ultimately, the Kage decides how the perpretrator will be punished.

(OOC: I actually don't know how the judicial system works in the Naruto world, so I'm pulling this out of my ass. >_>; Sorry!)

I suppose. Although I try not to pass judgment without first consulting my council. I must consider all sides of the case before I can decide whether or not the accused person is guilty of any crimes.

Hmm. I see. Why was the jury entity removed from the procedure?

Winning? This is not a competition. What is the purpose of desiring that?

The hidden village of each nation determines what is acceptable for their land.

Really. You seem very displeased with this kind of bias. Is it due to your desire for justice, or because it makes your job more difficult?

I find that to be rather pointless. A person's reputation and freedom are at stake. Those should not be taken lightly.

In that situation, a joint session can be held with the affected lands.

Actually, that is what happened recently. I was in a joint session with the Lady Hokage of Konoha. We were to decide the fate of a person who committed a... very foolish act.

You mentioned Edgeworth is a prosecutor, correct? How are you two able to work together with your jutxaposed positions?

I see. So people can be punished to death in your world.

Yes. This person attempted to free a dangerous entity in my world. A sand demon.

That is good. It must be reassuring, knowing there are others in the world who share your desire for justice.

I see. As shinobi, we are rather familiar with the concept of death.

The Lady Hokage and I each issued him the punishment that we deemed was appropriate.

Perhaps over time, other lawyers will follow your mindset.

Do you think less of me because of this aspect?
