Edgeworth set an uncharacteristically sedate pace as they walked. The evening so far had been surprisingly pleasant, despite the awkwardness of Wright's invitation. (The hour of the event wasn't the most convenient of times to invite anyone to anything, as far as Edgeworth was concerned, and he'd almost refused on principle alone. Only a lack of excuses and the nervous earnestness of his companion's offer had persuaded him to accept.) As with all of their previous encounters there had been moments of strained interactions or uncomfortable silence -- particularly on Wright's part, the man had been acting rather strange throughout the evening -- but overall the meal was a genial one.

As they neared the parking structure Edgeworth fished his keys out of his pocket, while his mind idly roamed over his wine inventory in search of a suitable bottle to top off the evening with.
