040 [Locked from Dahlia; Hackable]

I've been having some trouble with my internet service provider. Seems they decided last weekend was a good time to disconnect me, so until this gets cleared up, I probably won't be around much.

I haven't missed anything important, have I? Did anyone figure out why we were all tied up?

Oh? That's good, then. I'm sure your friend enjoyed the shared time as well.

It wasn't. I would rather be tied to her than anyone else. Some people in this community were even bound to their enemies.

I'm sure you mean your enemies. Or some of the evil people on this community.

Phoenix, huh? There is... an interesting meaning behind that name, right?

My name is Gaara of the Desert.

I have heard stories of it. I was merely... startled. You wouldn't happen to actually possess the powers of a phoenix... or do you?

...Yes. I live in Suna, the Village Hidden in the Sand.

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-20 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Of course not.

...I see.

Actually, the "hidden" aspect denotes that the village is the main power of each country. For example, Suna is the main one in the Land of Wind, while Konoha is the main one in the Land of Fire.

(OOC: Please forgive Gaara for being socially retarded. XD)

No. The names of the villages are determined by the terrain. Konoha has an alternate title as the "Village Hidden in the Leaves," while my village, Suna, is also known as the "Village Hidden in the Sand."

(OOC: Actually, I like that. :D Gaara usually is the one that asks people a lot of questions, so it's nice to have it going the other way around for once, hehe. ^_^ Besides, I'd like them to become friends. Is that cool with you? <3 Besides, Phoenix is a lawyer. Of course he asks a lot of questions by default.)

Yes. They are all named after the elements most strongly associated with them. The shinobi in the Land of Fire specialize in fire techniques, while the shinobi from my lands specialize in wind techniques.

(OOC: Gaara has never been shy about asking questions either, hehehe. I remember he paused in the middle of battle to ask his opponent about the special kind of jutsu he had. XD)

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Typically, the techniques themselves are our weapons. Although there are some shinobi that prefer to wield a sword, mace, flail, club, or others of those types in addition to their ninja skills.

Our techniques are usually aligned with an element. For example, my sister can create wind attacks with her fan.

(OOC: Oh, good! :D I'll be happy to teach you! <3 Albeit Gaara's past is really angsty, just an FYI and a warning... *cough*)

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Magic doesn't exist in my world. Our techniques require spiritual energy to execute.

Do you have knowledge of magic and spellcasting?

(OOC: Oh, then I hope Gaara becomes one of his close friends! <3)

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Spirit mediums? As in, communication with the dead?

My friend Johnny can cast magic spells by using something called "Crests."

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
...I don't fully understand.

Hmm. Interesting. Our spiritual energy is called chakra.

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds... quite remarkable. I must see this for myself.

Yes. Depending on the chakra storage capabilities, a shinobi may use techniques multiple times, or if it's a very high-level skill, only a limited number.

[identity profile] fifth-kazekage.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
All right.

Actually, it depends on each individual ninja. But the more chakra we can store, the better it is for us to emerge victorious from battle, as well as successfully carrying out our missions. We are capable of increasing our chakra capacity.

So there are no ninjas in your world, eh?
