I think it's more that it's arrogant to keep an opinion even when presented with evidence that it's wrong - like thinking you know better than anyone else and refusing to listen.
I don't think you do that very often, for the record. You're usually pretty open to other ideas.
Well, I don't have too many lines compared to most people... I tend to figure everyone has the right to decide for themselves what they do. Unless it affects me personally, why should I care or try to stop them?
But you can't realistically be open to every idea...
I've never been able to think like that. I can't be aware of something that's going on and turn a blind eye to it just because it isn't affecting me personally.
I don't know, Phoenix. You said to Zechs that you hadn't been, when you apologized. But like I said, you normally do.
I don't think there's anything compassionate about forcing your values on someone else, personally. That's the way I look at it, anyway. I'm not talking about standing by while a friend is hurt, though. Something like that affects me and I'd intervene.
I think maybe we're talking about two different things? ...I think I get what you were talking about now. You weren't talking about tolerance of other points of view, but tolerance of other people's harmful actions?
I think if you have the power to stop someone from being hurt, you should use it if you want to. That doesn't have to be personal power - you could ask someone, or hire someone.

Hence why we do disagree on some things. You're too much of a hero.

There's nothing heroic about it. It's called human compassion.

How is not wanting other people to get hurt forcing your views on somebody else?
