This has to be the single strangest junk e-mail I've ever gotten.

Of the matter of snow here. Both of us have grasped
The mortal architect had brought to life,
My keyhole blows a gale
XV. The International Circumpolar Stations: The Greely Expedition
And beyond, the same sound of bees
A rabbit carcass in its stiffened fur.
And he is swathed in ever-petrified dread;

It's almost poetic.

In related news, I'm finally done catching up with all of my e-mails and voice mails. I never thought it'd take so long to get through two months of backlog, but I guess you don't realize how much stuff you get until it all piles up. At least I don't have to worry about it anymore...

Laws are hard enough to enforce when you have a mechanism for doing it. If you're just relying on good will, it's doomed from the start.

He will not be irrationally prejudiced against defense lawyers until Ep 10. >_>

What field?

"Phoenix Wright" is not a Japanese name, okay?

Oh, does your country have an adversarial system?

Togusa will not be hiring him anytime soon.

Defense, representing the accused, and prosecution, representing the state, both present arguments to a neutral judge or jury.

Uh-huh.

It's the norm for systems based on English common law.

"They changed everything?" Are you Japanese?

Because our judicial system got entirely restructured under the occupation government after World War II.

That's never really been a problem for us. How did it work out?

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very short.

I don't think that would be constitutional here. I'm almost certain it would be ruled a violation of Article 37.

Ours isn't the greatest, either. There's a lot of corruption, in the police and the courts.

We use AIs to eliminate as much judicial bias as we can, but it's only for procedural matters and doesn't affect the actual judgment.
