In related news, I'm finally done catching up with all of my e-mails and voice mails. I never thought it'd take so long to get through two months of backlog, but I guess you don't realize how much stuff you get until it all piles up. At least I don't have to worry about it anymore...

I'll admit I'm not too familiar with the history. The... adversarial system is all I've ever known, though I do know we used to have some kind of jurist system a long time ago. But that was before they changed everything.

Because our judicial system got entirely restructured under the occupation government after World War II.

I'm not sure, but my guess is not good enough. They restructured it further by mandating that trials can't last any longer than three days.

Yeah... Our judicial system isn't in the best shape it could be. A friend and I are trying to get some changes made, but it's a slow process.

Ours isn't the greatest, either. There's a lot of corruption, in the police and the courts.

We use AIs to eliminate as much judicial bias as we can, but it's only for procedural matters and doesn't affect the actual judgment.
